BIOGRAPHY
A physician focused on healthy ageing, function and continuity of care
______
Dr Jowita Kozlowska is a Specialist General Physician with extensive experience caring for older adults with complex medical conditions, multimorbidity, and acute illness. Much of her career has been spent in hospital settings, supporting patients and their families through serious illness, recovery, and complex discharge planning.
Through this work, Dr Kozlowska has cared for many older patients who experienced significant loss of function following acute illness. These experiences strongly shaped her current clinical focus. In her private rooms, she has a particular interest in healthy ageing, prevention, and supporting patients before illness or functional decline becomes established.
Her approach centres on comprehensive assessment, risk reduction, optimisation of chronic disease management, and careful medication review, guided by each patient’s individual values and goals. She has particular interests in cardiovascular and metabolic health, bone health and osteoporosis, falls risk, mobility, and maintaining independence.
Dr Kozlowska values clear communication, continuity of care, and close collaboration with GPs and allied health professionals. She aims to provide timely, practical recommendations that support ongoing community care and reduce avoidable hospitalisation.
“Good physician care should be clinically sound, but also personal. I aim to understand each patient’s health in context, so the advice I provide supports their function, independence, and quality of life.”

“My aim is to provide physician care that is thorough, thoughtful, and clinically sound. Many patients referred to a general physician are managing more than one issue at a time. In these situations, it is important to review the full picture and provide advice that is clear, practical, and based on the patient’s overall health and circumstances.”
